I had no idea what to expect from an ‘escape room’ but the experience far surpassed my expectations.

I don’t want to give too much away about what happens in the room so won’t say too much.

Our room was a mystery of why someone had planted a bomb in the Paris Hotel. We had one hour to unravel the logic clues to discover who had planted the bomb and get the code to leave the room, otherwise it would self-destruct with us inside (ok, so maybe I made that bit up!).

We unravelled codes, numbers and at one point were even in control of a UV torch. Frantic searching and a defective meant we solved the mystery with 29 seconds to spare leaving a carnage of turned out cupboards, puzzles strewn across the floor in ur wake.

We exited for a drink and chat with the owner in the Sherlock Holmes style living room. It was brilliant fun, highly recommended, an hour flew by in no time at all.

After all the excitement was meandered slowly back to the apartment stopping at a lovely street fronted cafe along the way for a very civilised drink, in my case coffee! Beer festival tomorrow….
