Hole Station: Peace and quiet

with No Comments

Hole Station is a haven of peace and quiet in the middle of Devon.

The small family run campsite was everything it promised and more. Quiet, peaceful and fabulously well equipped. Greg, the owner / handyman / receptionist, was perfectly friendly and very welcoming.

Our rent-a-tent pitch came equiped with a covered kitchen (complete with table, washing up faclities and utensils), pre erected tent and fire pit area all in a beautifuul serene, seculded, private pitch in the middle of the woods.

The old railway station is still standing, turned into a family home for the owners with a reception area out front. A plethora of well loved pets and animals roam the grounds, horses, goats, chickens plus the family dog and cat.

Four days of unadulterated relaxation were just about long enough to lose track of time. Within an hour of arriving left the real world felt a million miles away. Technology and mobile phones were absent, I was surrounded by the flickering flames of the fire and enveloped in the world of a book.

Pure bliss.
